Miranda squealed when she saw the pool and the floating bar with the raised hot tub in one alcove. Alex disappeared to clean up and set up the bedroom.
Damian grinned to himself at the setting. Zack was in one of those moods. The evening held even more promise than he expected. His friend must have liked what he saw back at the bar.
Mirandaâs stomach growled.
âLet me feed you. You must be famished.â
âThanks. Marathon sex does that to me.â Miranda explored the outside deck. âThis place seems as though thereâs another treasure to discover around every corner. Youâre fortunate to live on such a beautiful island. You live like a god.â
A low chuckle rumbled through the night sounds. The lights lit up the surrounding area, and even Damian had to admit the picture the scene painted looked decadent. âI am. And you? What is your home like?â His honesty escaped her notice.
âNothing like this. Oh, itâs very luxurious, but itâs an apartment in a city, nevertheless.â
Zack had gone all out, lighting candles and torches, and turning on the speakers to soft mood music. âAh, a city. Full of people and excitement and actionââ
âSmog, pollution, noise.â She laughed. âItâs all in your point of view.â
He followed her glance to the lights in the hot tub as they rotated through soft pastel hues on a continuous basis.
âThe black-bottomed pool looks like dark chocolate. I love the way the tiny underwater lights softly dim against the natural stone waterfall.â
âThank you.â He plucked a shrimp from a skewer and held it to her lips.
She opened, closed her mouth, chewed, and swallowed. âMmm, these are so fresh and delicious.â
He stuck another shrimp in her mouth, this one with a grilled mushroom, and said, âShh, eat and enjoy.â
âI didnât realize how hungry I was.â
âI did, Mira. Your stomach growled all through our last bout of lovemaking.â
She looked away. âLovemaking? Is that what we did? I thought we fucked.â
âIt may have started as fucking, but Iâd like to believe it became more as we progressed.â He cupped her cheek and turned her back to face him.
âAre you using âmaking loveâ as a euphemism?â
âUsually, the term is less crass than the alternative truth.â
âAh, so you wanted to fuck me?â She grinned at him and picked up another shrimp.
He laughed. âDefinitely. So maybe itâs not love.â
